The General Election
Following the General Election, Ellie Chowns from the Green Party was elected as MP for North Herefordshire.
Whilst we have been unsuccessful in defending the seat, Sir Bill has done a wonderful job during his 20 plus years as our MP. He has been a tireless advocate for our county and his achievements have been significant and numerous, not only helping many individuals as a constituency MP but including most latterly securing £35 million for improvements to the River Wye, increasing the number of beds at Hereford hospital, changes to how Children's Services is run locally and doubling the budgets for roads.
Whilst the by-pass was not built, his efforts in securing funding were successful until the project was cancelled by the last Green led Council administration. I am very grateful for Bill's service and his many accomplishments, which will have a lasting positive impact on our community.
I also want to extend my thanks to the campaign team and the many volunteers. Your hard work, passion, and dedication cannot be denied.
Yours faithfully
