“This year has seen huge sums announced for Herefordshire by the Government.
£106,918,000 in additional funding for road resurfacing, which will allow the much-needed road work the previous Green-Independent Council overlooked to be done.
£101,851,000 for local transport, which I am calling on the Council to use for the Hereford Bypass and accessibility in Ledbury Train Station.
The Midlands can also look forward to £123 million for the first stage of the Midlands Rail Hub project, which will have a positive impact on over 50 stations.
All this funding has been reallocated from HS2, which people would be forgiven for forgetting that I voted against in 2013!
Presciently, I voted against HS2 on the grounds that investment in North Herefordshire’s transport infrastructure was more desperately needed.
Happily that investment is now arriving and I am confident that the Conservative Council will use it to reverse the damage left by the previous Green and Independent Council.
